| Even though Ordnance Survey’s
MasterMap data is supplied fully-polygonised, a considerable
amount of work is required before a map is ready for use.
This can be time-consuming and often delays users from
reaping the benefits of their investment. Pear Technology’s
aim is to simplify the whole digital mapping process as
far as possible, therefore we offer customers a map preparation
service. |

Map
preparation can involve some or all of the following:
- Simplification of layer
structure for improved ease of use.
- Combination of multiple
polygons to create one boundary e.g for a farmstead.
- Addition of field numbers,
names and areas.
- Addition of layers for
ownerships, tenancies, easements, woodland boundaries,
environmental protection areas, rights of way.
- Addition of grid lines,
co-ordinates, title boxes, frame etc.
- Creation of regional
maps for industrial associations, sales organisations
etc.
- Mapping of tree and other
data supplied by specialist surveying companies.
Where needed, our mapping specialists can work on
site with you to transfer your paper information
onto digital maps.
